For over 25 years, Elaine Lotto has researched individuals, companies and foundations for non-profit organizations throughout the country. She has worked for over 250 institutions, including independent schools, colleges, hospitals and museums. In addition to researching and writing profiles, Elaine trains development staffs how to do their own research.

Prior to starting her own consulting firm, Elaine was a prospect researcher at Pine Manor College and the Alumni Coordinator at the University of Akron. She also taught school for five years. She has an undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a masters degree from Kent State University.

She is a member of the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement and is a board member and past president of its Upstate New York chapter. She is the past treasurer of the Genesee Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a former board member of the New England Development Researchers Association.

Elaine has written articles for professional publications, including the electronic newsletter FundRaising Success Advisor. Her most recent article is Online Prospect Research Tips.
